The Cairo and Giza tour gives you an experience of the most famous attractions in Egypt in an enriching way, which portrays both the city life and the ancient life.
It starts with a pickup from your Hotel, whether Cairo or Giza, in a comfortable air-conditioned car provided by Traviaz. The initial tourist destination is the pyramid of Khufu, the greatest and strongest of all the pyramids, constructed more than 4,500 years ago at Giza. You will also be able to see the slightly smaller pyramid of Khafre, which is believed to be related to the Sphinx, and the smallest one of Menkaure. As you walk around these monuments, your Egyptologist guide will tell you about the creation of these monuments.
Then the journey to the Egyptian Museum is made, where one can see more than 120,000 artifacts. Among the treasures on display are golden treasures of Tutancamun, and the physical remains of kings and queens, including Ramesses II and Hatshepsut, giant statues and temple reliefs, telling stories of victories, rituals, and gods. After the visit to the museum is completed, you can relax and have lunch at one of the local restaurants.
Then you see the holy places of Cairo, such as the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius (Abu Serga), the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Citadel of Saladin, the Mohamed Ali Mosque, which has great views of the city, and the historic streets with Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which is full of color, spices, and people.
After all that, you come home satisfied knowing that you have visited the most significant places in the country.
Our private TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide will meet you at your hotel to begin an unforgettable journey through Cairo’s most iconic landmarks.
Giza Pyramids Complex
Your tour starts at the Giza Pyramids Complex, home to the world-famous pyramids built during Egypt's Fourth Dynasty. Explore the biggest and oldest of the three pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Khufu constructed between 2580- 2560 BC. Once risen to a height of approximately 146 meters, this remarkable monument embodies the genius of engineering and architectural accuracy with which ancient Egypt was built.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu
The highlight of the plateau is the Great Pyramid, which was erected as a burial site for King Khufu (2609-2584 BC). This giant monument was planned by his great architect, Hemiunu, and at one time, it was 147 meters high and completed within 15 years. It weighs about six million tons, and it is the only surviving marvel of the old world--and when one is standing before the monument, it is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history. Among its priceless treasures are artifacts that had remained undiscovered for over 3,500 years, until the 20th century, when most of them were discovered. The biggest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian art can be found in this museum, and it offers a unique and personal glimpse into the life, beliefs, and accomplishments of this great civilization. With your expert guide by your side, the stories behind these masterpieces will vividly come to life.
Khan El Khalili Bazaar
The next stop will be to the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of Cairo’s oldest and most vibrant markets. The narrow alleys are filled with shops selling jewelry, spices, textiles, handicrafts, and traditional souvenirs.
You’ll also have time to relax at a local café and enjoy authentic Egyptian tea or coffee while absorbing the lively atmosphere of the bazaar.
At the end of the tour, our professional team at Traviaz will return you to your hotel.
