On this memorable 6-day journey through Egypt with Traviaz, you will explore the world of ancient Egypt. Your tour begins in Cairo, where you will be educated more on the rich culture and traditions of Egypt.

You will then continue the journey on a Nile Cruise, which is the centrepiece of the experience. Instead of being driven in a car, you will be sailing on a boat or yacht, and you will get to see some historic sites like Luxor and Aswan. You will get to visit the temples of Philae and Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods (Sobek & Horus) and featuring a symmetrical twin sanctuary.
Also, Edfu Temple, which is a large and well-preserved temple of the falcon god Horus.
At Edfu, visitors often ride a horse-drawn carriage from the dock up to the temple site. You will also visit the Aswan High Dam and the archaeological sites that are along the riverbank. You also get to see the three Giza pyramids, which are: the Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure pyramids. You'll visit the Great Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 120,000 artifacts.

Explore the Alluring Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Our guide will explain its symbolism and the famous Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, which narrates a legend of the young prince and the dead Sphinx.

Aswan is often referred to as the “Jewel of the Nile” thanks to its natural beauty and deep historical significance.
Upon arrival in Aswan, our professional team at TRAVIAZ will warmly welcome you and transfer you in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to your elegant Nile cruise ship,
The cruise ship will be your floating hotel for the coming days as you sail along the Nile and explore the timeless monuments lining its banks.
In the afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis. Dating back to the Greco-Roman period(380-362 BC), this temple is closely associated with the myth of Osiris, his death at the hands of Set, and his resurrection through the devotion of Isis. Philae Temple is, to this day, one of the most ambient and eye-catching places along the Nile.
You will also visit the Aswan High Dam, a landmark of modern Egyptian engineering. The dam was completed in the 20 th century, and it is very important in controlling the floods along the Nile, generating hydroelectric power, and creating one of the largest artificial lakes in the world, Lake Nasser.
After the tour, you will return to your cruise ship, where you will be served dinner and hopefully have a serene night's rest as the river gently flows by.

On Day 4, you will start your morning with a delicious breakfast on board the Nile cruise as the ship sails toward Kom Ombo.
Upon arrival at Kom Ombo, you will visit the Kom Ombo Temple. This distinctive double temple dates back to the Ptolemaic period and is uniquely dedicated to two gods--Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Its beautifully preserved reliefs offer intriguing insight into ancient Egyptian medicine, rituals, and daily life.
After the visit, the cruise will continue sailing toward Edfu, where you will explore the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Horus, devoted to the falcon god Horus. The temple is considered to be one of the well-preserved temples in all of Egypt.
The temple has a monumental pylon entrance, a spacious open courtyard, and grand hypostyle halls. The reliefs and hieroglyphs are so detailed that they bring to life the ancient Egyptian mythology of the legendary battle between Horus and his uncle Seth. After your sumptuous breakfast, our professional Egyptologist from Traviaz will give you a guided tour of Luxor's West Bank. This is one of the most important archaeological areas in Egypt.
The trip will begin with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom (c. 1550-1070 BC). Here, you will explore a selection of richly decorated underground tombs belonging to powerful pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II. Your guide will tell you about the burial practices, the carvings on the walls, and the beliefs regarding the afterlife that defined this great period in the history of ancient Egypt.
Next, you will visit the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This stylish terraced temple was constructed in the 15th century BC to honor one of the most successful female rulers of Egypt. The temple itself, as well as its reliefs, were dedicated to the god Amun and were designed not only with the motives of religious worship but also with the heritage of Queen Hatshepsut as a mighty pharaoh.
In the afternoon, you will continue your exploration on the East Bank of Luxor with visits to the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple, two of Egypt's most impressive religious sites dedicated to the god Amun.
Karnak Temple Complex, dating back to 1971 BC and 20 BC, the largest religious site ever built. Devoted to the Theban Triad Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, Karnak was built over centuries, and its structure consists of towering pylons, sacred lakes, and the well-known Great Hypostyle Hall, with its forest of colossal columns.
You will then continue your trip to the beautifully preserved Luxor Temple that is gracefully situated in the heart of the city. The temple provides a captivating insight into the ceremonial life in ancient times because it is known for its grand courtyard, colonnades, and the historic Avenue of Sphinxes.
After completing the tour, you will return to the Nile cruise to check out. Our professional team at Traviaz will then transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Cairo.
