The journey typically begins in Cairo, where you are introduced to Egypt’s ancient civilization and vibrant city life. Guided by professional Egyptologists, you explore some of the city’s most important historical landmarks, gaining insight into the stories, beliefs, and achievements that shaped ancient Egypt. Celebrating Christmas in Cairo adds a special atmosphere to the experience, combining festive spirit with rich cultural discovery.

After experiencing Cairo’s history and heritage, the tour continues to Hurghada, a well-known Red Sea destination famous for its beaches, clear waters, and relaxed resort lifestyle. This part of the journey is designed for rest and enjoyment, offering a welcome contrast to the city’s historical exploration. In Hurghada, you have time to unwind, enjoy the sea, and take advantage of resort facilities, making the holiday feel both refreshing and unhurried.

Overnight: a Hotel in Cairo.

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist guide will take you to visit the Giza Pyramids complex, including the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx.

The Great Pyramid

Your tour starts at the Giza Pyramids Complex, home to the world-famous pyramids built during Egypt's Fourth Dynasty. Explore the biggest and oldest of the three pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Khufu constructed between 2580- 2560 BC. Once risen to a height of approximately 146 meters, this remarkable monument embodies the genius of engineering and architectural accuracy with which ancient Egypt was built
The Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Our guide will explain its symbolism, mysteries, and the famous Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, which narrates a legend of the young prince and the dead Sphinx.

Dinner cruise

During the evening, you can have one of the most unforgettable experiences of Cairo- a Nile River Dinner Cruise. Board a well-decorated floating restaurant and sail through the legendary Nile with the city lights glistening and sparkling around you. Enjoy freshly cooked meals and live performances that bring the Egyptian culture to your life, such as an elegant belly dancing show, and the color- spinning show of Tanoura, which is based on the folklore.

Following this stress-relieving and tranquilizing introduction to Egypt, get back to your hotel, where you can have a relaxing stay overnight.

Overnight: a Hotel in Cairo. | Meals: Breakfast - Lunch.

Breakfast will be served to you at your hotel, after which you will meet your professional TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide and begin exploring some of the city’s most important historical and cultural landmarks.

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history. Among its priceless treasures are artifacts that had remained undiscovered for over 3,500 years, until the 20th century, when most of them were discovered. The biggest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian art can be found in this museum. It offers a unique and personal glimpse into the life and accomplishments of this great civilization. With your expert guide by your side, the stories behind these masterpieces will vividly come to life.

Cairo Citadel

It is a huge medieval castle that was built in the 12th century to protect the city against the invasion of the Crusaders. The citadel is strategically located on Mokattam hill, and it served as Egypt’s seat of government for centuries. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Cairo. Visitors can visit various important mosques, museums, and historic buildings within the complex.

Among the key attractions is the great Mosque of Muhammad Ali, commonly referred to as the Alabaster Mosque. It was constructed in the 19th century and is now famous due to its grand architecture in the Ottoman style, soaring domes, graceful and elegant minarets, and beautifully adorned interior. Other great museums that can be found in the citadel include the National Military Museum and the Police Museum, which present insight into the history of the Egyptian military and security.
The high grounds of the citadel also provide spectacular views of the skyline of Cairo. It is the ideal place to view the scope of the city and its historical nature.

Khan El-Khalili Bazaar

The next stop will be to the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of Cairo’s oldest and most vibrant markets. The narrow alleys are filled with shops selling jewelry, spices, textiles, handicrafts, and traditional souvenirs.
