The second day of your 6-Day Easter Holiday Tour of Egypt in Egypt will start with a glorious breakfast in your hotel and a consequent check out. Your professional TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide will then take you to see some of the best monuments of ancient Egypt.

Giza Pyramids Complex

Your tour starts at the Giza Pyramids Complex, home to the world-famous pyramids built during Egypt's Fourth Dynasty. Explore the biggest and oldest of the three pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Khufu constructed between 2580- 2560 BC. Once risen to a height of approximately 146 meters, this remarkable monument embodies the genius of engineering and architectural accuracy with which ancient Egypt was built.

Explore the Alluring Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Our guide will explain its symbolism, mysteries, and the famous Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, which narrates a legend of the young prince and the dead Sphinx.

Visit the Valley Temple

The next visit is a trip to the Valley Temple, an essential part of the Giza funerary complex.
This highly preserved building was utilized in rituals of purification and mummification and provides a great deal of information about the mummification and burial practices and religious beliefs of ancient Egypt.

Tour the Grand Egyptian Museum.

This will be followed by a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history, including highlights such as the Hanging Obelisk, the monumental Statue of King Ramses II, and the impressive Grand Staircase. With the help of your TRAVIAZ guide, you will know more about the ancient Egyptian civilization, royal traditions, and architectural achievements. Optional VIP entry gives the opportunity to enjoy the museum more with extra exclusive exhibits.

Following this, you will go to the Cairo Airport, where you will board your local flight to Luxor. On arrival, you will be transported to your luxury hotel to check in, rest, and be ready to proceed with the next part of your tour of ancient Egypt.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Domestic Flight: Cairo → Luxor
Overnight: Hotel in Luxor

After having breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed with your 6-day Easter holiday in Egypt with the full day guided sightseeing trip in Luxor, one of the greatest archaeological cities of the world. With your professional TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide accompanying you, you will visit some of the most popular ancient sites of Luxor, both on the West and the East Banks of the Nile.

Valley of the Kings

The trip will begin with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom (c. 1550-1070 BC). Here, you will explore a selection of richly decorated underground tombs belonging to powerful pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II. Your guide will tell you about the burial practices, the carvings on the walls, and the beliefs regarding the afterlife that defined this great period in the history of ancient Egypt.

The Temple of Hatshepsut

Next, you will visit the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This stylish terraced temple was constructed in the 15th century BC to honor one of the most successful female rulers of Egypt. The temple itself, as well as its reliefs, were dedicated to the god Amun and were designed not only with the motives of religious worship but also with the heritage of Queen Hatshepsut as a mighty pharaoh.

Colossi of Memnon

After this, you will see the Colossi of Memnon, two massive seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that once guarded the entrance to the Theban necropolis. These iconic monuments have stood on the Theban plain for over three thousand years and remain one of Luxor's most recognizable landmarks.

Karnak Temples

You will also explore the vast Karnak Temple Complex, dating back to 1971 BC and 20 BC, the largest religious site ever built. Devoted to the Theban Triad Amun, Mut, and Khonsu,  Karnak was built over centuries, and its structure consists of towering pylons, sacred lakes, and the well-known Great Hypostyle Hall, with its forest of colossal columns.

After completing your sightseeing tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor by our air-conditioned vehicle. Evening is free to relax and enjoy your stay before proceeding the next day with your trip through ancient Egypt.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Overnight: Hotel in Luxor

Breakfast will be served to you at your hotel in Luxor, after which you will check out and take a train to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will meet your professional TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the city's most important historical and cultural landmarks.

Aswan High Dam

Your first stop is the Aswan High Dam, a landmark of modern Egyptian engineering. The dam was completed in the 20 th century, and it is very important in controlling the floods along the Nile, generating hydroelectric power, and creating one of the largest artificial lakes in the world, Lake Nasser.

The unfinished Obelisk

Next, you will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan. This obelisk was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, and was meant to be the tallest obelisk in the history of its construction. During its carving, cracks were found that led to the abandonment of the project, leaving behind the rare and valuable experience of the ancient Egyptian method of stone-cutting.

Philae Temple

Continue your tour to the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis. Dating back to the Greco-Roman period(380-362 BC), this temple is closely associated with the myth of Osiris, his death at the hands of Set, and his resurrection through the devotion of Isis. Philae Temple is, to this day, one of the most ambient and eye-catching places along the Nile.

After completing your sightseeing tour in Aswan, you will be transferred by TRAVIAZ to your hotel for check-in. The night is to rest and enjoy the quiet environment of Aswan until the next day, when you resume your trip.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Overnight: Hotel in Aswan

You will depart Aswan after breakfast, leaving your hotel in Aswan, in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, for Abu Simbel with our highly qualified TRAVIAZ tour guide.

Abu Simbel Temples

On your arrival, you will visit the spectacular Abu Simbel Temples, which were constructed by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13 th century BC. These grandiose rock-cut temples are some of the greatest archaeological monuments of Egypt, depicting the strength, ambitions, and artistic capability of ancient Egypt. The Great Temple, inside, will leave you flabbergasted with giant sized accounts of some of the biggest military battles some of the biggest of the big military battles like the Battle of Kadesh- an event that saw the first documented peace treaty in the world.

Your guide will also explain the famous Abu Simbel Sun Festival, which takes place each year on February 22 and October 22, when sunlight reaches the inner sanctuary and illuminates the statues of Ramses II and the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah--an extraordinary example of ancient astronomical precision.
