Description

Your journey begins in Cairo at the Giza Plateau. Walk along the desert landscape exploring the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, and other smaller pyramids dedicated to Queens. Don’t just see the popular ones, check out the other pyramids like the Step Pyramid of Djosser and the Pyramid Complex of Unas at Saqqara Necropolis, in the city of Memphis.

Back in the city, explore the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) to see the display of artifacts presented in modern curated galleries. Usually, people spend a whole day here, so take your time going through each exhibition hall. Spend the evening experiencing fine dining at the stunning Bittersweet restaurant at GEM.

From Cairo, travel to Aswan to enjoy the tour at a more relaxed pace. First, visit the Philae Temple by boat to see the renowned temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. If you love history, you might want to go at night for the light and sound show where the temple guides tell the story of Isis and Osiris dramatically.

Next, go to the Nubian Museum to immerse yourself in the Nubian culture, history, and art. Before hopping on your Nile Cruise boat, stop by the Unfinished Obelisk to appreciate the precision and ambition of ancient stone masons.

By late afternoon, get on your cruise boat and enjoy premium service in a spacious cabin as you relish a relaxing time on the Nile.

Your next stop is Luxor, but there’s a lot to see in the in between. Your first activity can be a cruise on the Nile, having a light breakfast, and enjoying the fresh morning breeze. You can make stops in between to spend some time at the small villages and say hi to the local fishermen.

Spend some time at the dual temples of Kom Ombo, also called House of the Crocodile and Castle of the Falcon, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus the Elder. You’ll see some mummified crocodiles near the site as well because, to the ancient Egyptian, it was a totem animal. It was said that the followers of Seth turned themselves into crocodiles to escape enemies.

The Edfu Temple’s story is no less dramatic, with the myths depicting Horus’ victory over Seth, his uncle. You may have a bit of knowledge about their enmity if you’ve watched the Gods of Egypt movie.

Once you get to Luxor, start at the West Bank to see the various burial sites of dignitaries, like the Valley of Kings, Valley of Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Valley of Nobles. You can spend some time visiting the colorful tombs and taking memorable photos.

If you’re not afraid of a little adventure, get on a hot air balloon ride for a wholesome view of the Sunrise over the farmlands and the Nile River, historical sites, and the temples.

Once risen to a height of approximately 146 meters, this remarkable monument embodies the genius of engineering and architectural accuracy with which ancient Egypt was built.

The Enigmatic Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history. Among its priceless treasures are artifacts that had remained undiscovered for over 3,500 years, until the 20th century, when most of them were discovered. The biggest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian art can be found in this museum. It offers a unique and personal glimpse into the life and accomplishments of this great civilization. With your expert guide by your side, the stories behind these masterpieces will vividly come to life.

The Saqqara Step Pyramid
The Step Pyramid of Djoser is considered to be the world’s earliest large-scale stone monument. The monument was built between 2670 BC and 2650 BC This six-tiered structure began as a traditional mastaba before being expanded into a revolutionary stepped design for Pharaoh Djoser’s funerary complex.  Designed by the brilliant architect Imhotep, the pyramid marked a major turning point in ancient Egyptian architecture and royal burial traditions. Located within the Saqqara is a complex that includes courtyards, temples, ceremonial structures, and symbolic shrines that reflect the religious beliefs of the Old Kingdom.

Memphis City
Memphis was once the capital of ancient Egypt and was founded around 3100 BCE by the legendary king Menes.
