Description

Start your journey in Cairo, where you get to see both ancient and modern Egyptian culture in display. First of all, go straight to the Pyramids of Giza at the Giza Complex. You stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and suddenly every documentary you’ve ever watched makes sense. This view alone is already worth the trip, but there’s more!

Not far away, you will see the Great Sphinx, carved directly from the bedrock. You’ll hear the debates about who it really represents and why the nose is missing. Nevermind because the views of the other pyramids at the complex soon take your attention.

After Giza, go to the Grand Egyptian Museum to see ancient treasures displayed in a modern space. You’ll see tombs, statues, artifacts, and of course, the legendary treasures of Tutankhamun.

Once you're satisfied, enter the city to see more of Cairo, walking through the Old Cairo streets. Some of the places you’d want to include during your visit include Coptic Cairo, the Hanging Church, the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Babylon Fortress, and Khan Khalili market.

Next, go south to Aswan, you may choose to experience Egypt on the Nile too. Even if it’s just a short sailing experience, get on a felucca and enjoy a peaceful time drifting on the waters.

If your schedule allows, continue to Aswan and visit Philae Temple. The carvings you see on its inside tell the story of Isis and Osiris, the betrayal, loyalty, and resurrection.

Next, go north to Luxor. Spend time at the Karnak Temple appreciating the craftsmanship and architecture that went into erecting the towering columns. You can run your hands along hieroglyphs carved thousands of years ago while your guide explains how generations of pharaohs kept building the mini city for over 2,000 years.

When you are done at the East Bank, head over to the West Bank and enter the Valley of the Kings. From the outside, it looks like just desert hills, but inside, you’ll see scenes carved into the chamber walls to guide the kings into the afterlife.

Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut nearby after. Hatshepsut was one of Egypt’s most powerful female pharaohs, and her temple reflects her ambition and wisdom.

And if you prefer something different, you can extend your stay to Hurghada to enjoy some water-based activities at the scenic islands and beaches. There’s no better way to end the trip after the temples and tombs visits than a relaxing day on a beach with turquoise waters around you.

By the end of this tour, you would have pieced together a story that makes you feel you’ve lived more than a lifetime.
