Description

Your luxury trip begins in the capital, Cairo, where you’ll explore the Pyramids of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure at the Giza Plateau. Your private guide will take you around, showing you the beauty of Giza at great viewpoints.

Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where there are wide exhibition halls displaying over 100,000 exhibits. Feel free to move through the galleries at your own pace, admiring the huge statues and artifacts across the halls.

Next, live a little in Old Cairo or Coptic Cairo to get a feel of the 10th century in the present time. The streets of Old Cairo are historically rich with the Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish heritage architecture. You can explore the Hanging Church, Coptic Museum, Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Mosque of Amr ibn Al-As, the Roman Fortress of Babylon, the Nilometer, Old Cairo Bazaar Khan El-Khalili, and so much more.

Next, head over to Aswan, Visit Abu Simbel, built in the 13th century. As you approach, you can already see the massive four statues of Ramesses II carved out on the rock. Originally, it was on a lower ground, but that soon changed when Lake Nasser almost submerged the ancient monuments.

Next to the Great Temple of Ramesses is the smaller Temple of Queen Nefertari, dedicated to the favourite wife of Ramesses and the goddess of Hathor. Mere standing before these huge statues, you can feel history in the scale and artistry.

Next, head over to Luxor to see the great Egyptian monuments. Go to the Valley of Kings first to see the tombs of Pharaohs and other great men. The underground site is said to be hidden so that they have a safe passageway into the afterlife. You might want to check out the markings on the wall to see how the afterlife rites worked, although your guide will be there to explain.

Last but definitely not least, head over to The Temple of Hatshepsut is nearby, carved into the cliffs so you may want to go check that out. The wall carvings tell the story of one of the most powerful female Pharaohs and her trade secrets during her lifetime. You can also check out a couple more places on the west bank, like the Colossi of Memnon and the Valley of Queens, before moving to the east bank.

On the east bank of Luxor, visit the Karnak Temple. It’s quite a spacious space, almost like a mini city, so you can spend a whole day there as well. Spend time at the Great Hypostyle Hall, admiring the intricate carvings on the temple columns.

Experience the trip of a lifetime with this carefully curated package from Traviaz.
