Description

A felucca ride in Cairo is typically a way to escape the busy city and relax, sailing on the Nile. Our friendly representative will pick you up and then lead you to your waiting felucca. Everything is pretty much already arranged, so you don’t have to bother about negotiating prices or packing too much.

A felucca is a traditional wooden boat used to sail on the Nile in Egypt. Most times, it is powered by wind, but sometimes it uses an engine if the wind isn’t strong enough to sail the boat. Either way, it is very comfortable inside with the cushioned seat and warm reception on board.

Once you are on board, just unwind as the boat leaves the dock and let peaceful views start to unfold before you. If you are leaving from Zamalec, you can glance over to the other side and spot Giza by the Nile. On the way, you’ll pass landmarks like the Imbaba Bridge and some swanky hotels by the shore.

While you sail, you can make out the places you’ve already visited, like the Egyptian Museum. Of course, your guide will be there to share and point out some monuments and share stories about them.

You can time your ride close to sunset to experience something special. The best spot you want to sit is right in front because from there, you can watch the sky gradually become warm and golden. And its reflection on the Nile? Truly mesmerizing and calming.

During this short trip, you can take lots of pictures on the felucca, relax, and enjoy some local delicacies. We’re taking it slow, so you get to savor every single moment.

As the felucca returns to the dock, you can continue your exploration of Cairo with a visit to Downtown Cairo. Dinner at a rooftop bar or restaurant is also a great way to end the night on a high note after a satisfying time on the Nile.

The whole time, TRAVAIZ ensures your ride is smooth and totally worth your time.

Itinerary

Your experience begins with the Traviaz team picking you up and transferring you to the Nile Corniche, where your private felucca awaits.

This is a two-hour personalized felucca ride that is offered every day and can be booked at the time that suits you best. You can decide to sail in the daytime in the warm Cairo sunshine or at night when the city lights reflect on the Nile but regardless, it provides you with a relaxing and natural way to experience Cairo by boat.

With the felucca flowing softly over the river, you will have the most beautiful panoramic views of the city skyline, bridges, and landmarks beside the river in a quiet environment without traffic and people. It is a perfect place to visit as a couple, family or any person who wants to relax and appreciate the beauty of nature.

At the end of your felucca ride, Traviaz will transfer you back to your hotel, leaving you with beautiful memories of Cairo from the Nile.
