Description

We’ll kick things off at the Giza Complex. If you do nothing else in Giza, make sure you visit the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. To tell you the truth, there is so much to look at that you may have to revisit the area, especially if you plan to enter each pyramid.

Many people think there are just 3 pyramids in Giza because the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure are usually the highlight, but there are 4 more smaller queen pyramids. You can take a stroll around to see all seven pyramids, but you can also do camel rides or drive when the weather gets too hot and humid.

While visiting the complex, you can have breakfast at the Pyramid Lounge or enjoy it at a nearby cafe by the time you’re done.

You are probably already anticipating a tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum; it’s definitely on our list! It’s new, huge, and rich with history. You’d see the famous Tutankhamon collection and over 100,000 exhibits in other halls. Any history buff will pay $$$ to spend a whole day there.

Next, enter Cairo proper to explore the streets of Coptic Cairo. There are a lot of old but impressive churches with some interesting architectural designs. It's the same in Islamic Cairo, which is full of tombs, mosques, and sites dating back centuries.

Visit one of the prominent monuments in Cairo, the Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, to see the cluster of museums and mosques in the area. One that marks the mind is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. It is as old as 1848 AD, but it stands out with its twin Minarets which are the highest in Egypt.

The Al-Azhar Mosque is also worth visiting, particularly because of its marble-covered courtyard and beautiful park.

Nobody misses a stop at the Khan el Khalili, one of Egypt’s oldest Souks when in Cairo. You can purchase loads of souvenirs at a good price if you know how to bargain.

One of the rare places you also want to check is the Baron Empain Palace. Words cannot describe the architectural design of the Hindu Temple. It’s worth seeing if you are fascinated by complex architecture.

There’s no end to sites to explore in Cairo, and 3 days is not nearly enough, but trust us, we have planned the best itinerary to help you maximize your stay.

Great Pyramids of Giza

The Golden Pyramid Complex of Giza is one of the most significant marvels of the ancient world, soaring out of the sands of the desert. Constructed around 2600 BC, these monumental pyramids were the eternal graves of pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt and are still a strong reminder of the ancient aspiration and brilliance.

Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Our guide will explain its symbolism, mysteries, and the famous Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, which narrates a legend of the young prince and the dead Sphinx.

Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history. Among its priceless treasures are artifacts that had remained undiscovered for over 3,500 years, until the 20th century, when most of them were discovered. The biggest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian art can be found in this museum, and it offers a unique and personal glimpse into the life, beliefs, and accomplishments of this great civilization. With your expert guide by your side, the stories behind these masterpieces will vividly come to life

After a full day of sightseeing, a representative of TRAVIAZ will take you to your hotel to have a peaceful night's rest.
