Description

In Hurghada, there’s no shortage of water-based activities you can engage in. Starting from the Red Sea, you will see colorful coral reefs, full of fish, as you go snorkeling and scuba diving underwater. Don’t miss out on a boat trip to the stunning Giftūn Island, a natural reserve close to the Red Sea. You’d want to check out Mahmya Beach, go snorkeling, and enjoy watching the dolphins dive around playfully.

The Sunshine Garden Beach is also worth visiting, although you have to watch out for seagulls stealing your chips. Other than that, it is pristine, clean, and very relaxing. Outside the city, you can enjoy safaris on the dunes by quad bikes, 4x4 jeep, buggies, or even camel rides.

You can top it with a glass-bottom boat ride, spend time at one of the luxury resorts, and enjoy dinner at the seaside.

Away from Hurghada’s pristine beaches, you want to explore Cairo next. There, you will see more historical sites, museums, and urban attractions.  We recommend going to the Pyramids of Giza first to see the three huge Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Sphinx is also in the vicinity, sitting pretty near the monuments.

Also in the area, one place you should definitely visit is the Grand Egyptian Museum. Prepare to spend time here gazing at ancient artifacts and relics spanning different eras of Egypt. Whatever you do, don’t skip the Tutankhamun exhibit hall.

Go straight into Old Cairo after that to see the concentration of the Coptic churches and Islamic Cairo. Their back stories will leave you wide-eyed. You don’t want to miss the Khan el-Khalili for the world. The trip may be short, but you’ll make valuable purchases at the markets and enjoy the rich drinks and local delicacies at the cafes. If time permits, try a felucca ride on the Nile.

Lastly, Luxor is a beauty to behold if you love history and ancient sites. On the East Bank, you can explore the Karnak and the Luxor Temples. And on the West Bank, you will see the famous hidden Valley of Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

If you are not in a hurry, get on a hot air balloon to see the city from another perspective. You can bring this wholesome adventure to an end by enjoying a felucca ride on the Nile at sunset. It soothes your soul after a day of touring the city.

Pyramids of Giza

The Golden Pyramid Complex of Giza is one of the most significant marvels of the ancient world, soaring out of the sands of the desert. Constructed around 2600 BC, these monumental pyramids were the eternal graves of pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt and are still a strong reminder of the ancient aspiration and brilliance.

Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magnificent structure constructed out of limestone that has the body of a lion and also the face that is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Our guide will explain its symbolism, mysteries, and the famous Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, which narrates a legend of the young prince and the dead Sphinx.

Egyptian Museum

Your next stop will be at the Egyptian Museum. The Museum houses a brilliant collection of artifacts that spans over 5000 years of Egyptian history. Among its priceless treasures are artifacts that had remained undiscovered for over 3,500 years, until the 20th century, when most of them were discovered.

This museum holds the largest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian art, and it provides a personal and unique insight into the life, beliefs, and achievements of this large civilization. With your expert guide by your side, the stories behind these masterpieces will vividly come to life.

Lunch

After your sumptuous lunch, the team will transfer you to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, a driver arranged by Traviaz will transfer you to your hotel, where you will check in and relax.

Overnight: Hotel in Luxor
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Breakfast will be served to you at your hotel in Luxor, after which you will meet your professional TRAVIAZ Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the timeless wonders of Luxor, often described as the world's greatest open-air museum.

Valley of the Kings

Your first stop will be at the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom (c. 1550-1070 BC). Here, you will explore a selection of richly decorated underground tombs belonging to powerful pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II. Your guide will tell you about the burial practices, the carvings on the walls, and the beliefs regarding the afterlife that defined this great period in the history of ancient Egypt.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Next, you will visit the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This stylish terraced temple was constructed in the 15th century BC to honor one of the most successful female rulers of Egypt. The temple itself, as well as its reliefs, were dedicated to the god Amun and were designed not only with the motives of religious worship but also with the heritage of Queen Hatshepsut as a mighty pharaoh.

Colossi of Memnon

After this, you will see the Colossi of Memnon, two massive seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that once guarded the entrance to the Theban necropolis. These iconic monuments have stood on the Theban plain for over three millenia and they remain one of Luxor's most recognizable landmarks.

Karnak Temple Complex

You will also explore the vast Karnak Temple Complex. The complex dates back to 1971 BC and 20 BC, and it is the largest religious site ever built. Devoted to the Theban Triad Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, Karnak was built over centuries, and its structure consists of towering pylons, sacred lakes, and the well-known Great Hypostyle Hall, with its forest of colossal columns.

After completing your sightseeing tour, you will be transferred by TRAVIAZ to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the night is for you to rest and enjoy the quiet environment until the next day, when you will resume your trip.
